For finance teams managing customers across Italy, France, and Spain, this release strengthens how split-payment VAT is handled on invoices: before the regime is applied or changed, the user must confirm the customer's fiscal status has been checked, unsent invoices remain locked from regime changes until VAT details are corrected, and VAT rates now stay clearly independent of the split-payment setting, removing a common source of confusion; alongside this, the automatic document-renewal panel has been removed from fiscal settings, simplifying that area in favour of the manual review processes teams already rely on.
Explicit confirmation required for split-payment VAT status on invoices
When enabling or applying the split-payment VAT regime on a customer invoice, the system now asks for explicit confirmation that the customer's fiscal status has been verified. If the invoice hasn't been sent yet, changes to the regime are blocked until any outdated VAT details are corrected, preventing a document from going out with stale information. VAT rates themselves stay independent of the split-payment setting, so there's no ambiguity between the two when preparing an invoice.
- A required confirmation step verifying the customer's split-payment status before it's applied to an invoice
- Regime changes on unsent invoices are blocked until VAT details are corrected
- VAT rates are now clearly treated as independent of the split-payment setting
- The automatic document-renewal panel, including dry-run mode and report email recipients, has been removed from fiscal settings

What changes for you
Anyone issuing split-payment VAT invoices now goes through an extra checkpoint before the document is finalised: the system asks you to confirm the customer's fiscal status has actually been verified. If the invoice hasn't been sent and the VAT details need correcting, the split-payment regime can't be changed until that's done, so an outdated status can't quietly make it onto a live invoice.
The fiscal settings area no longer includes the panel for automatic document renewal, along with its dry-run simulation mode and report email recipients list. Teams that relied on this scheduling feature will need to manage document renewals through their own manual process or other tools already in place.

Why it matters
A split-payment status that's out of date on an invoice can lead to disputes with customers and complications when filing VAT returns. Requiring an explicit confirmation, and locking changes on unsent documents until the data is correct, cuts off that risk before it reaches a finalised invoice, with a direct impact on invoicing quality and peace of mind for the finance team.
